Affluenza

Have been reading this book on overconsumption, the perpetual need to battle away on the treadmill to stay ahead of the next person, to get some kind of fleeting satisfaction from making more money, having a bigger tv, better bbq than the next person.
I'm only about 45 pages in, and I disagree with some of their arguments, but I don't think its too far wrong to say that for everyone struggling to buy more so that they can afford more of life's "necessities" (pointed out in the book as such absurdities as premium cat food and designer baby wear), life isn't getting better by earning more money..

First thoughts...

Hmm... Debt. Overwork. Wasteful consumption. Good book. Thought provoking. Back to work!
